Commitment and Accountability Agreement

We are excited to offer this year long program!

There will be 3 areas of involvement to finish and graduate from Maimonides

• attending 18 out of 21 available classes. Classes will be scheduled in advance, and up to 3 make ups will be allowed. Each class will be approximately of 90 minutes.

• 18 individual learning sessions of 30 minutes minimum with an LVJE staff member, either reflecting on the class, or as part of the Siyum Hashas program

• attend 3 "Maimonides Shabbos". Attendance is arriving before candle lighting time, all meals, classes or discussions, and leaving when all programming has concluded. Special weekends with our affiliates count as well. There will be at least 5 Shabbosos available.

Fellowship Grant

• To compensate fellows for their time committed to participation in the program, graduates will be awarded a $500.00 cash stipend.

• Israel Stipend: In lieu of the Basic Stipend, graduates may elect to receive $1000.00 to be paid after participation in an Olami level 1, level 2 Israel trip, or attending yeshiva/seminary.

• a $100 bonus will be awarded to any student who recruits a new member for Maimonides

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The Olami foundation invests money in the education of Jewish students who are dedicated to their growth in Jewish knowledge and leadership. As such, in order to receive compensation, participants are expected to commit to full participation in this program. Students who participate in less the above outlined minimal amount of group discussions, personal meetings or shabbatons will be ineligible for any funding. Arriving more than 5 minutes late to a personal meeting, 15 minutes late to a group discussion or 45 minutes late to a shabbat retreat will be considered non-participation. Make-up personal meetings, group discussions and shabbat retreats will be made available at the discretion of the staff. The staff of the Maimonides program reserve the right to dismiss any student from the program at any time if they are deemed to be disruptive to the experience of the rest of the group. In case of dismissal, all compensation will be forfeited. As funding for the Maimonides Fellowship comes in part from the Mosaic United funding initiative of the Government of Israel, all fellows must complete the Mosaic registration form in order to be eligible for any compensation.
